Armada Whitewalker 116 Ski 2025

The Pro-Rider Sammy Carlson's ski, the Armada Whitewater comes with some very particular backcountry specifications.
With a massive 116 mm underfoot, a pretty stiff flex for the category and strongly tapered tip and tail, the Whitewater 116 weighs in at only 3.60 kg a pair (185 cm), a very light weight for a ski this size.
The distribution of rockers follows that of the JJ, the iconic Armada ski. So we have everything you need for optimal lift-off in powder snow
Built with a solid flex that that gives confidence when attacking the steeps and changeable snow, the Whitewater 116 has a natural pivot that let's you turn short and reduce speed when obstacles arrive too soon.
Sammy Carlson has made his name skiing deep powder and the Whitewater 116 is a very effective tool for these conditions.
On piste and in harder snow conditions the ski's rigid flex provides good support underfoot, but one needs very good technique to ski hard snow effectively.
The tapered tip and tail shapes give the Whitewater a pleasing fluidity in changeable snow, but narrower extremities do mean that these skis float a little less than some other fat powder skis with even wider tips.
This is not a major issue though, and with 116 mm underfoot and such high tips, these skis work well in powder!
A great ski for technically advanced skiers, the Whitewater 116's stiff flex, unusual for this type of Freestyle-Backcountry ski (which usually have very flexible tips and tails) requires good ski technique.
A ski apart in its category, the Armada Whitewater is ultra efficient, playful in powder snow and light enough for seeking out untracked powder in the backcountry.
